What to do if the mobile app says I not in radius to clock-in?

In rare cases, when clocking in from the Beam mobile app, a warning may appear indicating that the user is not within the location and displaying the distance from the location.

Steps to check and resolve the issue:

1️⃣ Verify if the phone’s GPS is locating you correctly

    •    Open Google Maps or Apple Maps on the same phone and check your current location.

    •    Sometimes, the GPS takes time to update the user’s position or may need to be refreshed manually.

    •    Enable WiFi, even if not connected to a specific network.

    •    This helps the phone’s operating system improve location accuracy.

2️⃣ If the maps app shows the correct location inside the establishment

✔️ Beam should also detect the same location, and clocking in should work.

3️⃣ If the maps app shows an incorrect location

⚠️ The issue is likely with GPS accuracy.

    •    Enable WiFi and reopen the maps app to force a location update.

    •    This usually corrects the positioning.

If the issue persists:

Send an email to Beam support with two screenshots:

1️⃣ A screenshot from the Beam app showing the location warning.

2️⃣ A screenshot from the maps app displaying your current location at the same moment.

    •    This helps determine if the phone correctly locates the user inside the establishment.

The support team will analyze the data to check if Beam’s location detection aligns with the phone’s GPS and identify the root cause of the issue.
