The Concept of Validity Range (also named Validity Period) in Beam
In several areas of the Beam platform, reference is made to the use of Validity Ranges.
The concept of a Validity Range allows you to define a time frame with a start date and an end date, during which specific parameters apply. These parameters can evolve or change over time.
With this system, it is possible to add a new Validity Range with new parameters, without affecting previous calculations based on past ranges.
This is particularly useful when there are changes in company-wide agreements or local labor agreements, or when management practices evolve within the company.
? Examples of Validity Range Applications
✔️ The multiplier factor for hours worked on public holidays changes, increasing from 1.5 to 1.75.
✔️ A store or workplace that used to be closed on Sundays starts opening every Sunday of the year.
? Where Are Validity Ranges Used in Beam?
This concept is applied in areas such as:
• Work hour counters
• The distribution of regular working days for a store or workplace
Other sections of the platform may also integrate this feature in the future as new configuration options are added.
