Why set up an annual closure?
Every time you view an employee's Overtime Counter, the system automatically recalculates all their working hours to display up-to-date data. The longer an employee's history, the longer that calculation takes.
To keep loading times fast, we recommend configuring an automatic annual closure date. From that point on, the system will only recalculate shifts and working hours for the current year, making the Overtime Counter open almost instantly.

How does it work?
Once the date is configured, the previous year is automatically closed each year on that date.
Closed years are easy to spot: they display a lock icon ? to the right of the year, in the week header of the Overtime Counter view.
Note on the exact closure date: since Overtime Counters are always calculated in full weeks, the closure corresponds to the Sunday of the last week of the year (week 52 or 53). The closure date may therefore not fall exactly on December 31st.
Already have several years of history? If you enable this feature when the company already has 2 or more years of data, the closure will automatically apply to all previous years as well.
What if I need to edit data in a closed year?
If you make a change that affects an employee's Overtime Counter calculation in a closed year (for example, correcting working or rest hours), the system will notify you with a yellow alert on the impacted dates.
To update the counter, simply click the recalculate button to the right of the alert.
Depending on your company's time-tracking setup:

| Time-tracking enabled | Immediately, with no need to publish the schedule |
