Beam provides a user-friendly and efficient tool for managers to create training modules for their teams. These modules, known as "training capsules" or "micro-learnings," can cover a wide range of topics, from "How to Close the Store" to "How to Handle a Customer Return" to more comprehensive sales technique training.

Creating a Training Course:

To create a training course on Beam, follow these steps:

  1. General Information:

    • Title: Provide a clear and concise title for the training course.
    • Subtitle: Add a subtitle to provide context and further clarify the topic.
    • Tags: Select relevant tags from the organization's tag library to categorize the training course.
    • Start Date: Set the date when learners assigned to the course (see "Distribution" section) will be able to see it in their "Training" section.
    • End Date: This field is optional and can be left blank. If a date is specified, it will be used to measure the progress of expired or incomplete training courses.
  2. Distribution:

    • Target Audience: Assign the training course to specific employees or groups of people within the organization. These groups are called "Audiences" and are shared with the task module.
    • Audience Creation:
      • Employee Lists: Create audiences from lists of employees (with names and surnames). New employees can be added to these lists over time. The training course will appear to the employee each time they are manually added to this audience.
      • Establishments and/or Skills: Create audiences from lists of establishments and/or skills. When an establishment is added as a workplace to an employee's profile or a skill is added to their profile, the employee is included in this audience and sees the training course(s) assigned to this audience.
  3. Capsules:

    • Content Capsules: Present the educational content you want to teach.
    • Quiz/Form Capsules: Assess knowledge acquisition through questions and answers.
  4. Permissions:

    • Read-Only Access: Grant users permission to view the training course but not modify it.
    • Edit Access: Grant users full access to modify the training course.
  5. Publishing a Training Course:

    • Complete Content: Ensure all content and quiz capsules are ready.
    • Publish Button: Locate the "Publish" button in the top right corner of the screen.
    • Click to Publish: The training course will be published and made available to learners.

Note: Learners will not be able to access the training course before the scheduled start date, even after publication.

Monitoring Progress:

  1. Overview:

    • Progress Percentage: View the percentage of learners who have completed each section.
    • Average Time: See the average time spent on each section by learners.
    • Individual Progress: Click on a learner's profile to view their detailed progress in the training course.
  2. Employees:

    • Individual Progress: View the individual progress of each learner enrolled in the training course.
    • Completion Percentage: See the percentage of completion, time remaining, completed steps, and current status (completed, in progress, or not started) for each learner.
    • Quiz Responses: Click on a learner's quiz/module section to see the details of their responses and the score obtained.

Additional Notes:

  • When making changes, the modified element appears with an orange border. The "Save" button in the top right corner remains orange and displays the number of unsaved changes until they are saved.
  • An element with an error, due to a missing configuration, appears with a red border and the "Save" button turns red and displays the number of errors to be corrected until the errors are resolved.

Conclusion:

Beam's training course creation tool empowers managers to easily develop and deliver effective training programs for their teams, enhancing employee knowledge, skills, and overall performance.
